My husband Michael and I are proud to announce the arrival of Anthony James on November 21st, 2014. He is a blessing!
We are also blessed from winning the contest. We love the Joovy products!
The Caboose VaryLight feels so durable and smooth. Anthony loves riding in it. It also fits in the back of our car, a Subaru Impreza hatchback, without any issues. I like that I am able to easily fold and unfold it.
The Boob bottles are wonderful. I breastfeed, so I don’t use them everyday. I do pump though, so that Michael is able to feed Anthony sometimes. The pump attachments have been very helpful for that. I haven’t had any issues with the bottles. They are easy to use. We have a couple other types of bottles, but this is our favorite one. Some of our other ones have a tendency to leak. The plastic on one of the other bottles becomes too hot after being in the bottle warmer.

The Caboose VaryLight is SO EASY to put together! Check out this time lapse video!

The universal question asked by every parent expecting their second child is, “what’s the best double stroller?”
This can be a confusing and oftentimes overwhelming purchase. What do you choose: a side by side or tandem? This post is an overview of our line of tandem strollers, why tandem strolling is currently “hot” right now with parents and how these unique strollers have evolved over the last 10 years.
It all started with our original Caboose design. This genius double stroller was brought to market with the sole purpose of strolling with children of different ages, a concern when number 2, 3, or 4 is expected. The idea is simple, a younger child rides up front while the older child sits or stands in the rear. Â Older kids often think they want to walk but, as we all know, if one is out longer than expected, or that older child gets tired, it’s nice to have options so a meltdown doesn’t ensue.
The uniqueness of the original Caboose is in its incredibly small and compact frame. This small and maneuverable stroller has a traditional full size reclining front seat for a younger child and a bench seat and standing platform in the rear for an older child. It has a compact fold and is practical and easy to use. Parents love the functionality and older kids love the fun factor of riding on the back. We say, ‘hop on board’ to convey the fun and independence this offers an older child. The Caboose comparison chart (below) compares all the Cabooses in the Joovy line.
A few years later, we introduced the Caboose Ultralight, a lighter weight stroller with some nice upgrades: a larger canopy, 3-position reclining seat, sealed bearing wheels and a parent organizer (included). The frame is architecturally the same as the original Caboose, just lightened up a bit with an alloy construction. This Caboose Ultralight is a great stroller for Disney trips, airport travel and everyday use.
In 2013, we added the Caboose Too Seat, a full size reclining seat that installs over the bench seat. This genius accessory is perfect for strolling with two children who are close in age (and too young for the 2.5 year age grading for the rear stand on platform). The seat is extremely easy to install and remove when the older child is ready to ‘hop on board’. The Caboose Too Ultralight is packaged with the Caboose Too Seat included.
The Big Caboose is just that; BIG by design and ideal if you have twins and an older child or triplets. It is also a solution for strolling with 3 young children. The Big Caboose comes with 2 infant car seat adapters. This triple seater has two stadium full size seats that recline to 2 positions. An older child can sit or stand on the rear and the Caboose Too Seat adds a third, full size seat if needed.
Over the years, we’ve had some awesome feedback that has compelled us to improve upon the Caboose in it’s original form.
While parents love the Caboose, here’s a list of what they wanted updated or changed:
- add more sitting room for the older child (riding in the rear) when the front seat is reclined
- have the infant car seats attach in the rear rather than the front seat
- improve the wheels
- have an auto-lock
- have a standing fold
- make tray and canopy easier to take on and off
- add cup holders
We’ve answered these requests by introducing the Caboose VaryLight, a completely updated and redesigned Caboose. The Caboose VaryLight offers maximum “vary”ability so you’re ready for everything!
Our new Caboose technology includes a telescopic frame that expands to a full size double in seconds to accommodate when more room is needed. This means the front seat can be fully reclined (to 3 positions) and the VaryLight can be extended to accommodate and give the rear rider more room to sit comfortably. In its shorter length, there is still room for the older child to stand. The beauty is that you can customize seating as needed, all in a matter of seconds. And, ‘hop on board’ still applies and adds the element of excitement for your older child. More seating space for front and rear riders. Heavily padded front seat with side wings offer ultra comfort and support.
The gorgeous graphite frame gives the Caboose VaryLight a classy, modern look while offering the best in durability and function. Constructed of 6061 aircraft aluminum, the Caboose VaryLight has an overall capacity of 110 lbs or 55 lbs per seat.
The Caboose VaryLight has the very best stroller wheels money can buy. These PU (polyurethane) wheels are incredibly durable and will withstand strolling on virtually any type of terrain. Like skateboards and rollerblades, we’ve used sealed ball bearings in the wheels which are designed to reduce friction and support heavy loads. Totally worth the investment, your children will benefit from these upgraded wheels. Expect the smoothest ride with the Caboose VaryLight. These wheels are quick-released for easy removal when you want to store your Caboose.
Car seat adapters (brand specific and sold separately) can be used in the front or rear so baby is close to mom or dad. These new car seat adapters are ‘click in’ and sold separately. The Caboose VaryLight front seat can easily be removed to convert the stroller to a frame stroller to carry the infant car seat. In this configuration, there is still room for a standing rider or, the VaryLight can be extended to use the bench seat.
A swing away tray that is accessible from either side and easily removable is an enhanced feature of the Caboose VaryLight. Additional cup holders are easily attached (sold separately) and these can be used in the rear position as well.
When not in use, the Caboose VaryLight can be folded with a one-handed action. The standing fold is efficient and includes an auto-lock feature.
The gorgeous graphite frame gives the Caboose VaryLight a classy, modern look while offering the best in durability and function. Constructed of 6061 aircraft aluminum, the Caboose VaryLight has an overall capacity of 110 lbs. or 55 lbs. per seat. Canopy and seats are made of durable 600D nylon. The canopy has an extended sun visor for extra coverage.

I don’t say this for many things, but the Joovy TwinRoo is a MUST for anyone with twins. When we found out we were having twins, our mindset changed. We no longer wanted what was cute or trendy. We needed practical. We needed products that made our lives simpler and easier. We needed things to be effective and efficient. We needed Joovy!
This is such a smart product on all counts. Looking back, this stroller was how we survived our everyday! It would be that one product that we could not have lived without. We were those people who pushed the height limit on our infant carseats because we didn’t want our days with the TwinRoo to be over. We knew that stroller made our lives easier and we waited until the DAY our son-the taller of the two-hit the 30inch point.
We live an urban lifestyle and rely on an elevator to get us to and from our parking lot. Space is always an issue and getting to and from the car is always an issue. The TwinRoo checked all of our boxes. There are other things that make this stroller one step above the leading brands of frame strollers.
Safety of course is number one. We chose the Chicco Keyfit 30 based on safety reviews and price. The click-in feature huge. Hearing the click is reassurance that your kiddos are securely in.
Beyond peace of mind, they were clicked in very securely. One can bump into the stroller, run into a door (whoops), or knock it with a bag. Basically, life can happen and you are clicked into to knowing your kid are safe.
We originally went with a different brand not knowing about Joovy. I was beyond disappointed that you had to use a strap to secure it. Not only that, despite advertisements, the Chicco Keyfit 30 didn’t fit appropriately in it. We took it back immediately.
The fact that the carseats click in side by side in opposing directions is just plain smart! Many (many) people would comment the stroller and think it was so great that the kiddos could see each other. In all reality, they never really paid attention to one another BUT it did give me a better view of them as we were strolling. Most importantly, it makes the stroller shorter in length.
In the land of tight aisles in grocery stores, you need a stroller that can make a tight turn! Grocery stores, malls, doctors offices are not designed with twins and their rides in mind. When they told me were were expecting twins, someone should have said welcome to the land of inaccessibility. Less is more when it comes to strollers in order to get around.
Due to the side by side design, the TwinRoo is also very sturdy because it is a little wider. As your twins get older, you will appreciate this as you push your height limits of the carseats. We reached the height limit way before the weight but our son was about 22 pounds and daughter 20. That’s 40 some points you will be pushing and the TwinRoo will keep up.
This goes right with design but the fact that I could operate the stroller by myself and many times with one hand says a lot.
We used this stroller every day for a year and 2 months. It was used and abused and withstood all the tosses in to the trunk.
That says a lot about how it was built.
We used this stroller for everything. For us living in a condo and relying on an elevator, this was how we got to and from the car. No matter where we went, we used the stroller. Instead of using the grocery cart at the store, we simply used the Joovy. We added hooks to the handle so we were even more set!
Beyond transporting the kiddos, we used the stroller for feeding time. When they were little, I had to feed them on my own. I would strap them into their carseats and feed one on one side and one on the other. As they got older, we added the handles to the Joovy Boob and they were able to feed themselves in the carseats. We would just wheel the stroller out to the kitchen when it was time for their bottle and they would be all set.
Ease of Use
The TwinRoo is a simple as it gets for usability. It’s simple to handle, fold and unfold. The best is how easy it is to maneuver and push. Its relatively lightweight which is great once the babies start getting bigger!
Thank you to whoever designed this basket. You will use this basket and fill it up! For us, it was our grocery cart! The purse holder, the diaper bag holder! Since the carseats go on top of the frame… it sometimes can be a little difficult to take items out, but the sides are low enough or one carseat can snap out.
It simply makes sense to have 4 cup holders on a double stroller: 2 for mom and dad and 2 for the babies. Other brands don’t think so. It seems silly to mention a cup holder but in all reality, a cup holder turns into a key holder/cell phone holder, a pacifier holder, and a toy holder. It just one more plus to the stroller
From the design, to the durability, size, to practicality, this stroller is just smart. All aspects were well planned and designed with the parent of twins in mind.
As you embark on your new journey with twins, always keep in mind what is practical. You need products that make your life easier. You don’t need double of everything but you do need a Joovy TwinRoo to make everyday life a little simpler.

This just in: we’ve got brand new car seat adapters for the Qool and TooQool which makes strolling with infants a breeze! With the new car seat adapters, you can use these high functioning strollers with your baby’s infant car seat. What a convenience!
Expectant parents have so many things to consider when deciding which gear is going to be best for their baby and their lifestyle. Age grading is important because of appropriateness for proper use, depending on the age of your baby.
As stroller standards go, the Qool and TooQool are age graded for 3 months and above. Why, you ask? Because babies need to have a certain level of head control before they can sit up in the stroller seat on their own.
The industry has tackled the looming question: How do you stroll with an infant in your beautiful, brand new stroller? The solution: infant car seat adapters!
These handy accessories allow you to attach your infant car seat to your stroller while baby rides snugly in the comfort of their car seat. Parents love this functionality because these adapters click into conveniently on to the stroller making for a seat that’s just the right size for your baby.
