Did you know that the original Caboose with its stand-on platform and bench seat was designed by a grandfather in London? Â Yes, this is true. Â This grandfather was an engineer/fireman who took his grandchildren to work every morning. And, as you can imagine, these grandkids were of different ages. Sometimes the older one wanted to walk and sometimes he wanted to ride, sound familiar? Â It was during these walks that he envisioned a stroller with a built in standing platform and a bench seat for his older grandchild. Â After experimenting on paper, he put his hands to work and created the Caboose. Â With its short and sturdy frame, it was the perfect stroller: easy to maneuver and with plenty of space for both children!
Over the years, our popular Caboose has been modified and improved upon but one thing remains true: this is the perfect solution for strolling with children of different ages. Â Is it the ‘sexiest’ stroller on the market? No, not hardly. Â But, Â one thing is certain: it is the most practical stroller for strolling with two children of different ages. Â And, can you keep a secret? Â Your older child will absolutely LOVE the independence the Caboose offers him/her. Â Not only is it cool to ride on the back, the new baby isn’t old enough to have this privilege yet, only ‘big’ kids can ride here!
The original Caboose is still in our line. Â Check out the evolution of the Caboose with these links: Â Caboose, Caboose Ultralight, Caboose Too Ultralight, Ergo Caboose, Caboose VaryLight. Â While each Caboose offers unique and different features, the key feature is your ability to stroll with children of different ages. Â You get to choose which Caboose fits your family best!
This week, we are celebrating the newest introduction to the Caboose line: the VaryLight Caboose. Â This gorgeous, new and improved design still has the original functionality as the original Caboose but also includes new, high-end components and additional features.
The new Caboose VaryLight features:
- Sleek new ultra modern frame
- Expandable, telescopic frame grows from single to full size double (43.5″ to 49.75″)

“We absolutely love the Joovy Groove Ultralight!!! I have completely stopped using my other, heavier stroller, and I’ve loaned it to a few friends who have loved it too. My favorite feature is the ability to lay the seat back without disrupting a sleeping kid. My daughter loves that her legs can be supported up, instead of dangling down. And my mom, in an effort to keep the sun from burning my daughter when the shade wasn’t enough, found out that she could pull the stroller just as easily as she could push it – so great!
We will definitely recommend this stroller to our friends and are looking forward to trying out some of your other products.”

Robert Nickel, founder of  Daddy Scrubs,  and his growing family had the honor of trying out the Joovy Caboose Stroller for three. And it was a hit at both Lego Land and Disneyland. In fact Mrs. Daddy Nickell, said “the day would not have worked without it”. Thanks for making such wonderful products, Joovy!  Says dad, “  It is very easy to fold up and put in the back of the car, and believe it or not “light weight” but when open holds a LOT of stuff.”
Thanks to the Nickells for sharing their beautiful family with us and be sure to check out all the great gear for expectant dads over at Daddy Scrubs!

With my first child I had a very clunky travel system for getting out and about. Don’t get me wrong – it worked and served its purpose. But for my second child I wanted something easier, something that I could use in a pinch while managing my five year old and newborn at the same time. I found this in the Joovy Roo. I can’t tell you how happy I am with it. I’ve had it for just a few short weeks, but I’m sure giving this thing a run for its money and it is holding up beautifully. The Joovy Roo is light as a feather and I can open it up with just one hand – which is a godsend. I feel as if it gives me the freedom I always wanted because I’m not dreading the big hefty stroller from my first round of motherhood.
And in Los Angeles where a thing called stroller envy actually exists, the Roo provides just that – an envy inducing smooth ride compatibility with a variety of different car seats, and a superb sleek design. The compartments are perfect for easy access to cell phones, coffee cups, keys and more.
